Gloria’s Powerhouse Breakfast Smoothie

This is such a yummy, filling complete breakfast, I struggled to find the perfect name for it as I love it so much. You get your balance of protein, carbohydrates and good fats as well as good levels of antioxidants, anti-inflammatory and immune boosting enzymes that you get from turmeric, coconut oil and bee pollen. Alongside other fab benefits of bee pollen, one stands out for those trying to conceive – it also stimulates and restores ovarian function therefore may be used to assist in accelerating pregnancy…. but watch out for this one ladies and don’t overdose too much on the bee pollen because it’s also know as a great aphrodisiac….then again if you’re trying to conceive, heap it on!!!

Powerhouse smoothieIngredients

Serves 2

½ cup goji berries

1-cup blueberries

1 tbsp. bee pollen

1-cup coconut milk

¼ tsp. cinnamon

¼ tsp. turmeric

1 tbsp. coconut oil (melted)

2 tbsp. chia seeds

¼ cup almond meal

½ cup water

4 ice cubes (optional)

½ cup coconut flakes

1 tbsp. flaxseed (milled)

Directions

  1. Put the chia seeds in a small bow, add the coconut milk and leave for 10 minutes
  2. Pour the set mixture into your blender, add the other ingredients except the coconut pieces and flaxseed
  3. Pour smoothies into cups, mix in the flaxseeds and coconut pieces
  4. Enjoy and savour it slowly!!
